Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week Corporate Vice President – Head of Product, Business Solutions Role Overview:The Corporate Vice President - Head of Product, Business Solutions is responsible for defining and delivering the product strategy and roadmap for New York Life’s agent-sold Employee’s Whole Life and Employee Benefits offerings. This includes assessing market and competitive opportunities, designing new solutions, enhancing existing solutions, and working cross-functionally to bring these solutions to market, all while ensuring the solutions deliver value for clients, New York Life agents, and the enterprise.
The role operates at the intersection of business strategy, client and agent experience, and enterprise execution and acts as a key point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Service/Operations, Finance, Technology, and Strategy.This role is a key driver of New York Life’s protection-powered growth strategy in the workplace, accountable for shaping and delivering the product strategy that impacts key metrics such as sales, earnings, agent productivity, and client acquisition.What You’ll Do:Product Strategy & Product DevelopmentDevelop and maintain multi-year product strategy and roadmap for Employee’s Whole Life and agent-sold Employee Benefits (group term life insurance and group long and short term disability insurance)Lead end-to-end Employee’s Whole Life product development process (ideation, pricing, technology requirements, regulatory considerations, etc.) to bring new and enhanced solutions to marketWork with partners in Group Benefit Solutions to curate and continuously improve Employee Benefits product offering in the Agency channelEnsure products are scalable, compliant, and aligned with enterprise objectives while delivering value to clients, agents, and the businessProduct Management Continuously monitor and assess the performance of inforce products, in collaboration with Finance and other teams, to ensure continued profitability and valueWork with cross-functional stakeholders (Service, Agency, Purchase Experience, etc.) to address inforce product matters, including items related to technology/experienceField EngagementServe as subject matter expert for field facing items such as communications, training, sales strategies, etc.Develop client and field incentives to drive adoption and salesOwn product-related escalations and exceptions as neededCross-Functional and Industry LiaisonWork with stakeholders across Agency/Sales, Service, Group Benefit Solutions, Technology, Underwriting, Compliance, Purchase Experience, and various other groups to ensure product strategy is prioritized and delivered on appropriatelyServe as the strategic product liaison to external partners such as LIMRA (including serving on Workplace Benefits Advisory Board) and EastbridgeDepartment and Team LeadershipServe as member of Business Solutions Senior Leadership TeamLead and develop a team of high performing product specialists who manage day-to-day product development and management workWhat You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or similar fields10+ years of experience in product development/management or related rolesExperience in workplace insurance and/or group benefits strongly preferredExperience working with career agency system preferredStrong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to translate vision into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes. A bias for action and proven ability to execute is critical to this roleDemonstrated ability to communicate with and influence cross-functional stakeholders and lead through ambiguity in matrixed environments to achieve shared goalsProven ability to lead and develop individuals and teams#LI-JM14Pay TransparencySalary Range: $160,000-$228,500 Overtime eligible: Exempt Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes Sales bonus eligible: No Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
