
Automotive Customer Experience/Outside Sales Specialist

Compensation:
$65,000 – $90,000 base + commission Reports To:
Sales Manager or Brokerage Manager Position Summary The Logistics Specialist (Inside Sales) is responsible for developing customer relationships while coordinating freight movements through carrier partners. This role blends inside sales, carrier negotiation, and operational execution, allowing individuals to build and grow a personal book of business.
This position serves as a developmental pathway into higher-level brokerage sales roles.
Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
Identify shipping needs and present tailored logistics solutions
Generate new business via outbound calls, referrals, and prospecting
Support account growth through consistent service delivery
Develop relationships with qualified carriers
Negotiate competitive rates to achieve margin targets
Coordinate shipments from pickup through delivery
Monitor freight status and resolve service issues proactively
Operations & Collaboration
Balance sales and operational responsibilities
Utilize TMS systems to manage freight and documentation
Maintain accurate CRM records and shipment updates
Collaborate with brokerage team members to maximize performance
Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Experience
1–3 years of inside sales, logistics, or professional customer service experience
Freight brokerage or transportation experience preferred
Multi-modal freight knowledge (TL, LTL, intermodal, drayage) a plus
TMS experience preferred
Client-Specific Requirements (Highly Preferred / Priority)
Recent experience in a non-asset freight brokerage environment
Exposure to cradle-to-grave (full-cycle) brokerage operations , including:
Prospecting and developing
own book of business (shipper/client sales)
Managing
client relationships directly
Sourcing and negotiating with
carriers
Owning shipments from
initial sale through final delivery
Candidates with
carrier sales only experience will not be prioritized
Strong preference for candidates who have demonstrated
revenue-generating brokerage responsibilities , not solely operational or support roles
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities
Competitive and entrepreneurial mindset
Strong time management and organization
Ability to thrive in commission-driven environments
