
Sales Representative Perishable Foods to Retail

A well-established regional food distributor is hiring a Sales Representative to own and grow a defined territory in Cleveland / NE Ohio. This is a true territory role for a disciplined seller who can protect existing business, hunt new accounts daily, and drive both volume and gross profit in the independent retail channel.

Independent grocers (single-store and small groups) Small regional chains Meat markets / butcher shops Specialty and neighborhood mom & pop retailers Responsibilities
Manage a geographic territory to hit monthly volume and gross profit goals Maintain and grow existing retail accounts through regular in-person store visits Prospect and secure new retail accounts daily Build and execute account plans and smart territory routing to maximize time in the field Manage pricing within guidelines while protecting gross profit Sell a broad perishables mix, including poultry, fresh meats, deli, prepared foods, and related retail items Resolve customer issues quickly (availability, substitutions, credits, delivery coordination) Track performance using sales and gross profit reporting; run weekly call plans Qualifications
Proven B2B sales experience (food distribution / retail perishables preferred) Comfortable calling on owners, GMs, meat managers, and deli managers Strong communication, follow-through, and route discipline Valid driver's license / clean driving record Compensation
Negotiated base salary until proficiency, then 100% commission (uncapped), $750 per monthly car allowance, Gas card, $80 per month cell phone allowance, Health, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, 401(k), Paid time off (PTO).
