We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join our team in our new location in Riverton, UT.
Position Summary The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company and customer requirements. This role supports production and customer fulfillment by coordinating material flow, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities Receiving
Receive incoming materials, components, and supplies; verify quantities and inspect for damage
Compare shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
Accurately enter receipts into ERP/MRP systems
Label and store materials in designated locations
Communicate discrepancies to purchasing and suppliers
Shipping
Prepare and package finished goods and materials for shipment
Generate shipping documents (BOLs, packing lists, labels)
Coordinate shipments with carriers (LTL, parcel, freight)
Ensure on-time shipments to customers and internal locations
Verify accuracy of outgoing orders
Inventory & Coordination
Maintain accurate inventory through proper transactions and handling
Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits
Coordinate with production, purchasing, and customer service teams
Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and proper material handling practices
Maintain clean and organized shipping/receiving areas
Compliance & Safety
Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Ensure compliance with shipping regulations (domestic and international if applicable)
Properly handle hazardous materials (if applicable and trained)
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of shipping/receiving experience, preferably in manufacturing
Experience with ERP/MRP systems
Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., UPS, FedEx, or similar systems)
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, email)
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Good communication and teamwork
Problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack – certification preferred)
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
Forklift certification
Experience with barcode scanning systems
Knowledge of international shipping and export documentation
Lean manufacturing or 5S experience
Work Environment
Warehouse and manufacturing floor environment
Exposure to moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures
