Housing Specialist Job Summary

The Housing Specialist is a specialty case management position. In addition to the roles and responsibilities of a case manager, the Housing Specialist is responsible for developing a deep understanding of community resources as it relates to securing housing for individuals served in the program.

The Housing Specialist will work in the community to establish relationships with shelters, recovery homes, housing service providers, and landlords. They cultivate friendly relationships with landlords throughout the area of service, identifying new landlords, explaining the program, and ensuring landlords’ continued partnership. They protect the privacy and rights of the individual served and work within a multidisciplinary team, providing ongoing cross‑training around housing options.

Skills / Requirements

High school Diploma or GED required. Associate degree or higher in behavioral health preferred.

1–3 years of experience in behavioral health or related settings, including mental health and substance abuse.

Lived experience in recovery from mental health and/or substance use disorders, homelessness, family members and veterans preferred.

Current Arizona Driver’s License, valid and in good standing.

Clear 39‑month motor vehicle record.

Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) credential per A.A.C. R9‑10‑101.33 and CBI Clinical Policies.

Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
