Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join our Houston-based operations team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and compliant customs entries for international shipments, particularly within regulated and chemical-focused supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review Customs entry documentation in compliance with CBP, FDA, and OGAs
Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and Customs authorities to ensure smooth clearance
Input and manage shipment data using TMS, EDI, and CRM systems
Monitor shipment status and resolve documentation or clearance issues
Assist with tariff classification, duties, and cost analysis
Maintain organized records for audits and compliance reviews
Stay current on U.S. Customs regulations and FDA requirements
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years' experience in Customs entry processing within a freight forwarding or logistics environment
Strong understanding of U.S. import regulations and supply chain operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FDA, EPA, USDA and Other Government Agencies (OGAs)
CargoWise experience
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) by NCBFFA
Chemical or hazardous materials shipment experience
Knowledge of 3PL, NVOCC, and transportation planning
