Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Designer with a focus on cut and sew to support the development of contemporary apparel. This role will partner closely with the design team to help bring concepts to life, from initial idea through production, while maintaining brand standards and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the creation and refinement of cut-and-sew styles, including organizing sketches, tech packs, and garment details.
Support the design process from concept through final sample approval, ensuring timelines and key milestones are met.
Help prepare and update design boards, line sheets, and presentations for internal reviews.
Coordinate samples, fabrics, trims, and artwork, ensuring accurate labeling and tracking.
Partner with cross-functional teams (such as production and merchandising) to communicate design intent and follow up on sample status.
Assist with fitting sessions, taking notes and tracking fit comments and revisions.
Conduct basic research on trends, fabrics, and competitive product to inform the design process.
Qualifications
Previous experience or internship in fashion design, preferably with a focus on cut and sew.
Understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and basic pattern and fit terminology.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
