The Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix has rapidly become a world-class event in its first three years. This three-day spectacle attracts a global audience to witness the world's greatest drivers and cars navigate the iconic Las Vegas Strip at breathtaking speeds approaching 200 mph.
The Graphic Designer reports directly to the Creative Director. As a member of the Marketing Department, this position will design a full range of projects including print and digital design collateral, social media, signage, etc. This position will also support other departments as needed to ensure the overall success of LVGP.
Responsibilities
Become the subject matter expert on the F1 & Las Vegas Grand Prix brand standards and the overall look & feel
Work directly with and take direction from the Creative Director for execution of brand creative that translates business and marketing objectives into designs
Create original graphics, layouts, and other visuals independently using LVGP asset library and other resources
Support the design and evolution of website and app user interfaces, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design concepts for digital products.
Perform resizing, versioning, and other production-related tasks in high volumes
Propose design concepts to Creative Director and Marketing team for approval
Assist Creative Director with approval process for partner and inter-departmental creative submissions
Delegate tasks and provide creative direction to Junior Graphic Designer and ensure their output is up to LVGP standards for brand and quality
Collaborate with other members of the Marketing Department as well as other departments to provide visual solutions for creative requests
Help lead creative brainstorming sessions and flesh out new visual concepts for marketing campaigns
Create templates for Junior Graphic Designer and others to use to streamline repetitive tasks and maintain consistent look
Maintain communication with external agencies to ensure proper direction is clearly communicated
Skills
Ability to solve problems visually
Understanding of basic color theory
Sound graphic design fundamentals
Experience designing for websites and mobile applications.
Understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design.
Strong grasp of typography
Comfortable iterating existing creative and campaigns
Ability to maintain brand standards
Understanding of how design can influence and persuade
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to embrace challenges, feedback, and changes with a positive attitude
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent years of experience
2 years+ as a visual designer
Ability to provide a portfolio of diverse design work
Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of Social Media platforms and trends
Experience in photography/videography/nonlinear editing a plus
