Embark on an exciting opportunity as a
Senior Instructional Designer
at Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide Campus. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping high‑quality, adult learning‑focused online courses. You will collaborate daily with instructional designers, faculty developers, media specialists, contractors, and IDD leadership to ensure excellence in course design and delivery.
As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will lead quality assurance efforts, mentor junior instructional designers, and guide course production projects from conception through deployment. You will have the chance to innovate and apply best practices in instructional design, working within a dynamic team environment and across multiple academic programs.

Qualifications Required Education & Experience
Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a closely related field.
5–10 years of relevant experience in instructional design, course development, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, educational pedagogy, and online best practices.
Expertise with instructional design software and Learning Management Systems (preferably Canvas).
Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Superior critical thinking, decision‑making, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
Excellent interpersonal, mentoring, and communication skills in both individual and team contexts.
Experience conducting course quality reviews and implementing design standards.
Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, media teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Knowledge of ADA compliance and federal policies related to online course delivery.
Willingness to engage in professional development, research, and innovative solutions for online learning.
Preferred
Experience mentoring or supervising instructional designers.
Familiarity with adult learning‑oriented course production for academic and non‑credit programs.
Ability to integrate multimedia elements, video, and interactive components into online courses.
