Job Overview:
FirstService Residential is seeking a Senior Regional Director to provide executive-level leadership across a portfolio of large-scale, master-planned, highly amenitized, resort-style communities in the Bethesda / Central Maryland market.
This position is based in our Bethesda, Maryland office serving communities throughout Central MD and Northern VA . We are actively recruiting senior leaders from across the Northeast United States who are open to relocation. A competitive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.
These communities feature extensive lifestyle programming, clubhouses, pools, fitness centers, hospitality-driven amenities, capital improvement initiatives, and sophisticated Board governance structures.
This role is intentionally designed for a senior, VP-ready leader with deep experience in portfolio oversight, executive Board engagement, financial performance management, and multi-site leadership within complex environments.
The successful candidate will operate with executive autonomy while serving as a strategic partner to Boards, developers, and regional leadership.
Your Responsibilities:

  • Partners with executive and regional leadership to design and execute client relationship management strategies aligned to portfolio complexity, client risk profile, and long-term business objectives
  • Leads relationship management initiatives across high-visibility, master-planned communities, identifying risks and opportunities while developing structured, outcome-driven action plans
  • Models company culture, values, and brand promise while reinforcing executive-level standards for service delivery and leadership behavior
  • Acts as a senior brand ambassador by articulating the strategic value, operational impact, and scalability of FirstService Residential’s products and services
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to Boards and developer partners, providing insight-driven guidance on governance, financial stewardship, amenity operations, and long-term community planning
  • Aligns operational execution with financial and strategic objectives, including developer transitions, capital improvement initiatives, reserve planning, and evolving Board priorities
  • Owns portfolio-level key performance indicators including customer experience, client retention, growth, profitability, and leadership stability
  • Maintains accountability for client contracts, ensuring timely renewals and sustained long-term partnerships
  • Drives organic portfolio growth through strategic expansion of services, amenities, and operational solutions tailored to client needs
  • Builds, develops, and retains a strong bench of leadership talent capable of managing complex communities and preparing for expanded regional responsibility
  • Supports onboarding, coaching, and leadership development for senior community managers with a focus on readiness for broader scope roles
  • Regularly mentors managers and leadership teams, reinforcing professionalism, accountability, resilience, and executive presence
  • Holds self and leadership teams accountable for operational execution, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable business outcomes
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience in community association management, hospitality, senior living, or complex service-based operations, preferably within master-planned or highly amenitized environments
  • Demonstrated success in senior operations, account management, or executive-level client relationship leadership
  • Valid state driver’s license and state-mandated vehicle insurance
  • CMCA, AMS, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, judgment, and executive decision-making capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and enterprise business systems
  • Proven ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information
Physical Requirements:
  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing up to 25 lbs throughout the day. Must be able to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Must communicate effectively by phone and in person with Boards, clients, and associates.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing and keyboard use.
  • Must be mobile enough to move throughout offices and large community sites, including uneven terrain and extended walking distances.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously when interacting with clients, leadership, and associates.
  • Must be capable of working extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Work environment may alternate between indoor, climate-controlled settings and outdoor environments with variable conditions.
  • Must remain mentally alert, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities amid interruptions and shifting demands.
  • Must work effectively and professionally in high-pressure or adversarial situations inherent to executive-level property management.
What We Offer: As a full-time exempt associate, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including multiple medical plan options, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) with company match. Occasional travel may be required for training, portfolio oversight, and company initiatives.
A relocation package is available for the right candidate to support a move to the Bethesda, MD market.
Compensation: Up to $150,000 annually plus bonus
