Role Description
This is a leadership role based in Los Angeles, CA, for a Director of Fundraising at Queer Film Collective LA. The Director of Fundraising will lead and execute fundraising initiatives that support QFC LA’s programming, events, and long term sustainability.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, securing support through individual donors, grants, corporate partnerships, and community-based campaigns, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. The role will also oversee donor engagement, manage fundraising campaigns, and contribute to shaping the financial future of the organization.
This position works closely with leadership and community partners to expand QFC LA’s impact and create sustainable funding pathways that support queer filmmakers.
This is a remote role, with team members currently contributing an average of 30 to 40 hours per month.
Please note that this role is currently volunteer-based as QFC LA builds toward transitioning staff positions into salaried roles.
Qualifications
- Experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, partnerships, or related fields
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Experience with donor cultivation, sponsorships, or grant writing is preferred
- Ability to develop and execute strategic fundraising plans
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Creative thinking and problem-solving in resource development
- Passion for supporting LGBTQ plus communities and advancing diverse storytelling
- Ability to work collaboratively within a growing team environment
- Self-starter who is comfortable building systems and processes
