Job Title Associate 3D Technical Designer - Children's Apparel
Job Description An established Wholesale Manufacturer of branded and licensed children's apparel in NYC is looking to fill a Technical Design position. The Technical Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent level of quality and fit for Children ’s Apparel.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality
Create spec packages for each style including correct grade rules and non‑standard construction details
Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples for spec, quality & workmanship
Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production Depts
Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors, including providing detailed explanations, diagrams and/or patterns as needed
Work with Production and Compliance Depts to ensure all products meet relevant children ’s safety requirements
Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction as needed
Requirements
Minimum 2 years relevant experience, children swear experience
Experience with Browzwear 3D software.
Familiar with measuring sample points of measurement to ensure submitted samples are within tolerance of required specifications
Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction
Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction
Have understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process
Proficient in the use of Excel and MS Word; knowledge of Illustrator a plus
Must be willing to work in the office 5 days/week.
