About the Role MAI is seeking an Athletic Director to build and lead a world‑class athletic program aligned with the expectations of a Tier 1 independent school. This senior leadership role requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and strong people leadership within a high‑performance environment. The Athletic Director will lead MAI’s long‑term athletic strategy, oversee all programming and operations, and drive student‑athlete development while strengthening the school’s competitive reputation and national profile. What You Will Do This role will set the strategic direction for the department, develop and mentor coaching staff, and ensure a high‑quality student‑athlete experience that supports both performance and well‑being. The Athletic Director will oversee daily operations, scheduling, events, budgets, facilities, and compliance, while fostering alignment between athletics and academics, including pathways to college placement. This leader will also build strong relationships with families, school leadership, and external partners, ensuring that MAI’s athletic program operates safely, professionally, and with excellence at every level.

Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in sports management, educational administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in athletic administration, preferably in a high‑performance independent school or elite academy setting.
Credentials: Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) or Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) strongly preferred.
Expertise: Demonstrated success in strategic planning, budgeting, personnel leadership, and conflict resolution.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of compliance requirements, safety protocols, and modern training and conditioning practices.
Compensation and Benefits The salary range is $175,000. Benefits for eligible roles include medical, life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, and more.
