About Intrepid Camp Gear Intrepid was born from a frustration with flimsy gear that fails when it matters most. We specialize in vehicle-supported adventure and products designed to take the outdoor experience to the next level. From our market-revolutionizing and patented GEO Rooftop Tent series to our precision-engineered ITX Roofboxes, we are a group of gear nerds leaving no stone unturned.

Our Mission:

To empower adventurers to experience the thrill of outdoors more comfortably and efficiently.

We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact through sustainable manufacturing practices and responsible sourcing.

Customer Focus:

We prioritize customer satisfaction and provide exceptional support throughout the entire customer journey.

Adventure:

We encourage a spirit of exploration and inspire others to embrace the wonders of the outdoors.

The Role: What You’ll Do You will be the creative engine of our product development team, taking concepts from a sketch on a napkin to a production‑ready masterpiece.

Concept Generation:

Ideate, sketch, and render new product concepts that align with Intrepid’s "overbuilt but elegant" aesthetic.

Manage and Plan Product Timelines:

Most of product development is managing timelines including research, sketching, designing, materials, samples, and production. Planning and execution will be a large portion of this job.

Aid with 3D Modeling & CAD:

Develop high‑fidelity 3D models (SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360) for prototyping and manufacturing.

Prototyping & "Shop" Work:

Build physical mock‑ups, 3D print components, and test materials to ensure they meet our durability standards.

Design for Manufacturing (DFM):

Work closely with our engineering and manufacturing team to ensure designs are optimized for production without compromising on quality or company design language.

User Experience (UX):

Obsess over the details. How does it sound when it clicks? Where does the zipper land? Is it intuitive in the dark, in the rain, or with gloves on?

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.

Experience:

2–5 years of professional design experience (outdoor industry or hard‑goods experience is a major plus).
