
Ground-Up / Apartment Construction Superintendent

Equis Construction (General Contractor) is seeking an experienced and driven Ground-Up or Apartment Construction Superintendent to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing all on‑site construction activities for ground‑up and multifamily apartment projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who can manage subcontractors, coordinate inspections, maintain schedules, and serve as the primary on‑site point of contact from project start through close‑out.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee all daily on‑site construction activities for ground‑up and apartment projects
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure proper sequencing of work
Maintain project schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager and proactively address delays
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements
Enforce jobsite safety standards and OSHA regulations, including conducting safety meetings and inspections
Coordinate and attend city, county, and third‑party inspections
Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and site documentation
Monitor quality control across all trades and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly
Maintain site cleanliness, organization, and security
Lead punch walks and oversee punch list completion
Experience & Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on ground‑up or apartment projects.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Thorough knowledge of building codes, inspections, and safety regulations.
Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multiple trades simultaneously.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Experience with Procore software is strongly preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct field teams according to company standards.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and internal teams.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation And Benefits
$115,000 – $130,000/year
