Job Description Summary The Confidential Human Resources Specialist reports to a Human Resources Manager or Director and is responsible for independently performing confidential and complex administrative and support duties.

Job Description Responsibilities include:

Provide support, research, and analysis in human resource management, including but not limited to benefits administration, leaves of absence, pension and retirement, Workers’ Compensation, compliance, COBRA, employee relations, and employee engagement.

Manage, organize, and conduct new employee orientation and onboarding and offboarding activities on a regular basis.

Maintain up-to-date employee records by accurately processing and entering benefits and related changes within the HRIS and with various plan providers.

Provide customer service by responding to employee inquiries, disseminating information, and maintaining ongoing communication on personnel matters with internal and external parties.

Prepare and/or maintain tracking systems to monitor and follow up on confidential benefits processing, employee relations, personnel, and retirement-related matters.

Ensure appropriate follow- up on pending issues to resolve them in a timely manner and elevate them as needed.

Assist with the preparation, tracking, and reconciliation of obligations and expenditures related to benefits, pensions, welfare funds, and other related fringe expenses.

Compose, edit, and maintain correspondence (letters, spreadsheets, memos) and reports for review and approval by management.

Create, maintain, and modify human resources documents and reports for presentation and analysis.

Assist in preparing statistical analyses, activity tracking reports, audits, and other reports.

Maintain liaison with government agencies, health plan vendors, welfare funds, pension systems, and internal departments.

Participate in various human resources initiatives, including recruitment and employment, Wellness, benefits and retirement, employee relations and engagement, training and development, and HR compliance.

Maintain visitor procedures, redirect HR‑related calls, and distribute correspondence to the appropriate team member as needed.

Ensure employee records and files are maintained confidentially, accurately, and securely.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school or a general education diploma from an accredited program; and

Four years of full time experience in clerical administrative areas assisting in human resources, or comparable administrative duties; computer literacy; or

A satisfactory combination of education and experience.

Weighted Consideration Knowledge of human resources and employment laws. Proficient in computer applications to perform daily tasks such as Microsoft Office Suite. Must be detail orientated and highly organized with ability to work independently to set priorities and multi‑task. Strong customer service skills required. Team player mentality a must.

POSTING CLOSING DATE: Until Filled Civil Service Classification: Non‑Competitive Salary Range: $50,070.00 - $70,000.00

Education High school diploma or its educational equivalent

Certifications (if required) Work Experience Four years of full time experience in clerical administrative areas assisting in human resources, or comparable administrative duties; computer literacy or satisfactory combination of education and experience.
