We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Catering and Event Sales Manager to lead our event services and drive exceptional customer experiences. In this role, you will be the key driver of our catering and event sales initiatives, responsible for building strong client relationships, developing innovative marketing strategies, and ensuring flawless event execution. This role requires a dynamic, results-oriented professional with exceptional sales, organizational, and interpersonal skills. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring all event details are meticulously planned and executed to exceed client expectations and meet the organization's revenue goals.

Responsibilities Sales and Business Development

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve quarterly and annual catering and event revenue targets.

Proactively seek new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, site visits, and participation in industry events.

Respond promptly and professionally to all incoming inquiries (phone, email, walk-ins) and conduct persuasive sales presentations and property tours.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring profitability and adherence to established guidelines.

Maintain a robust sales pipeline and accurately forecast monthly and quarterly sales activity.

Event Planning and Management

Serve as the main liaison between the client and all internal departments (e.g., Culinary, Operations, Finance) to ensure seamless event coordination.

Detailed planning and execution of all events, including menu selection, beverage packages, seating arrangements, décor, vendor coordination (florists, entertainment, rental companies), and audiovisual needs.

Create and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and detailed event summaries, ensuring all relevant parties are informed of event requirements, changes, and timelines.

Oversee the setup and execution of events, troubleshooting any issues that arise to ensure client satisfaction.

Manage the client relationship throughout the planning process, providing exceptional customer service and personalized attention.

Administrative and Financial Management

Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and event records in the CRM and event management software.

Track and report on sales performance, key metrics, and market trends.

Manage client deposits, billing, and final payment collection in coordination with the Finance department.

Monitor competitive landscape and adjust pricing/packages as necessary to remain competitive and profitable.

Assist in the development of marketing materials and promotional packages for catering and events.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of proven sales experience, specifically in catering, hotel, restaurant, or event management.

Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed aggressive sales goals.

Skills and Competencies

Exceptional Sales Acumen: Strong negotiation, closing, and prospecting skills.

Organizational Mastery: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and staff.

Customer Focus: A passion for delivering high-quality customer service and creating memorable client experiences.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Tripleseat, Delphi) and event management systems.

Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate issues and proactively resolve challenges during the planning and execution phases.

Working Conditions

The role involves a mix of office work, sales appointments, and on-site event management.

Flexibility in scheduling is required, as evening, weekend, and holiday work may be necessary based on event schedules.

May require lifting and moving items up to 25 pounds occasionally.
