The Studio Gina Holz Designs is a boutique interior design firm specializing in ground-up custom homes and extensive remodels across Los Angeles’ most exclusive neighborhoods—from the Pacific Palisades to Beverly Hills. The Role We are seeking a

Senior Interior Designer

who is as comfortable on a dusty construction site as they are in a high-end showroom. This is a leadership role for a seasoned professional who understands that the magic of design is rooted in the math of execution.

You will be responsible for leading projects from the first architectural sketch to the final styling touch. You will act as a primary liaison between our studio, elite builders, and our clients, ensuring that every custom detail is executed to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Integration:

Work alongside architects and builders to review floor plans, ensuring the interior flow and furniture layouts are prioritized from day one. Review shop drawings and submittals. General knowledge of building codes and building systems.

Design Development:

Selections and specifications of finish materials and furniture. Create cohesive design narratives and palettes that fit the GHD aesthetic. Conceptualize and create design ideas through 3D visualization, mood boards and hand-sketching. See projects through completion with minimal review and supervision.

Technical Documentation:

Lead the production of comprehensive CD sets, including highly detailed custom millwork, cabinetry, and lighting plans. Develop space plans, project budget, schedule and programming documentation.

Client Stewardship:

Manage relationships with high-profile clients with empathy, transparency, and a "cool under pressure" attitude. Lead project meetings & client presentations.

Project Oversight:

Attend regular job site meetings; proactively solve construction challenges and ensure design intent is never compromised by field conditions. Create and manage time and materials budgets for projects

Curated Sourcing:

Specify high-end FF&E, including custom furniture designs and unique artisanal finds that elevate the home from "ordinary to extraordinary."

Team Player:

Prepare and coordinate with the rest of the team to deliver finished results and keep projects on time and on budget. Track time using Studio Designer. Organize and prioritize projects and assist with organizing team members, tasks and meetings. Mentoring and management of junior and intermediate designers

Qualifications & Skills

The Experience:

5+ years in high-end residential design. You must have experience with ground-up construction and large-scale remodels.

The Builder's Eye:

You understand the construction process, lead times, and what a contractor needs to succeed.

The Artist’s Hand:

A deep appreciation for materials and an ability to achieve something fresh while working within the GHD aesthetic.

The Tech Stack:

Expert-level AutoCAD. Rendering skills and experience with Studio Designer are a significant plus.

The Design IQ:

Deep knowledge of local showrooms and a working understanding of California Building Codes/Title 24.

Additional Qualifications

Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills

Desire and ability to work in a creative, service-oriented environment and prioritize while performing on multiple projects simultaneously

Resilient to coping with client demands & able to prioritize duties and work effectivelyTeam-oriented

Must be able to work independently with little supervision

Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
