Contract (6 months, potential extension or conversion)

About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Call Center Agent to support a government agency in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. In this role, you will assist individuals and businesses with tax-related inquiries, account issues, and compliance-related questions. This is a customer-focused position requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple systems simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Handle high-volume inbound calls related to individual and business tax inquiries

Resolve Tier 1 customer issues professionally and efficiently

Review, verify, and update customer account information during calls

Educate customers on policies, procedures, and available online resources

Assist customers with payment arrangements when applicable

Accurately document all interactions across multiple systems

Maintain compliance with policies and confidentiality standards

Meet performance metrics and participate in team engagement activities

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent call center experience in a high-volume environment

Background in banking, financial services, insurance, or telecommunications

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to multitask and navigate multiple systems simultaneously

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Spanish‑speaking ability

Experience in banking or financial services environments

Exposure to process improvement initiatives

Associate degree or higher
