Senior Battery Energy Storage Installer

$40-$48/hr, plus if a licensed journeyman electrician or contractor

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrician/Battery Energy Storage Installer to join our team. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role focused on the installation of advanced energy storage systems, backup power solutions, and integrated home energy systems.

As a Battery Energy Storage Installer, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting residential battery systems (Tesla Powerwall, Enphase Batteries, and other emerging technologies). You will work closely with crew members, electricians, and project managers to deliver safe, code‑compliant, and high‑quality installations.

Responsibilities

Install and commission residential battery storage systems including Tesla Powerwall and Enphase Batteries

Perform electrical upgrades including main panel replacements, subpanels, load‑side taps, and critical load rewiring

Commission and integrate battery systems with existing and new solar PV systems

Interpret engineered plans, single‑line diagrams, and permitting documents

Run conduit (EMT, PVC), install junction boxes, and perform clean, professional wire management

Troubleshoot and resolve installation or commissioning issues in the field

Ensure all work meets NEC, local code, and utility requirements

Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety standards

Maintain job site organization and cleanliness

Document installations with photos and commissioning data

Provide professional customer interaction

Support continuous improvement of installation processes

Qualifications

5+ years of experience installing solar PV and battery storage systems

Experience with Tesla Powerwall and/or Enphase battery systems

Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and NEC code

Experience with panel upgrades and backup configurations

Ability to read electrical plans and diagrams

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Must be responsible and motivated

Preferred Qualifications

California Certified Electrician (or in progress)

Crew leadership experience

Experience with whole‑home backup systems
