Brief Description
The Digital Communications & Marketing Specialist has five key areas of responsibility within the Digital Content team, including general digital communications and marketing, email marketing, paid digital advertising, social media content creation and production, and backup support for enterprise email marketing and podcast production. This key role partners throughout the organization to develop and implement strategic, integrated digital marketing campaigns across CAP digital channels while ensuring continuity of execution across high-volume platforms.
Specific Duties
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and implement compelling, effective integrated marketing campaigns across multiple digital channels.

Create, launch, and optimize paid digital campaigns across platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Instagram.
Lead daily social media content creation and management across CAP channels, including content scheduling, community management, and monitoring trends.
Collaborate in the development and execution of social media strategy in support of CAP programmatic and member-driven priorities.
Produce regular performance reporting on digital campaigns to enable stakeholder insights and data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate in the development and execution of social media strategy to support member content and goals from the CAP’s Digital Content Committee
Serve as backup support for enterprise email marketing production, ensuring continuity of operations during peak periods, staff absences, and urgent organizational communications.
Provide backup support for podcast production workflows, including coordination of episode schedules, basic editing support, publishing logistics, and coordination with internal and external contributors as needed.
Provide support for web analytics requests, including pulling data, creating dashboards, and delivering actionable insights using platforms such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
Assist in prioritization and intake management for high-volume digital requests in collaboration with Digital Content leadership.
Knowledge / Skills Required / Preferred
Strong written communication and digital storytelling skills.
Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms and audience segmentation.
Working knowledge of social media analytics, performance reporting, and optimization.
Familiarity with podcast production workflows, distribution platforms, and basic audio editing concepts preferred.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests in a deadline-driven environment.
Technical skills: proficient Marketo, Sprout Social; preferred experience with WordPress and Craft.
Education / Experience
Education
BS/BA in Journalism, English, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
Experience
1-2+ years of digital copywriting and social media content creation and strategy development, management/execution experience required.
1-2+ years of marketing and/or journalism experience.
2+ years social media management and analytics experience.
Additional Criteria
May be required to put in additional time and effort, including weekends, to meet project deadlines, major releases, and large organizational events (ex. Annual Meeting).
Subject to 24-hour call during production and operational difficulties.
Less than 10% travel
To be considered for this position, you must reside within 75-miles of the Northfield, IL OR Washington, DC office and meet the in-office requirements.
Salary: $77,000 - $96,000
