Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise in LLM models to design and develop scalable machine learning solutions that tackle complex language-based challenges in the advertising support sector.
  • Implement NLP techniques such as Sentence embeddings, Dimensionality reduction, clustering, and topic modeling to accurately identify customer intents and utterances.
  • Leverage AWS services like AWS Lex and AWS Bedrock to create solutions tailored for advertisers.
  • Collaborate with scientists and software engineers to execute real-time model implementations and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Automate feedback loops for algorithms that are live in production.
  • Set up monitoring systems to identify unusual data patterns, conduct root cause analyses, and address them effectively.
  • Engage with the Amazon-wide Machine Learning Community by participating in internal and external MeetUps, Hackathons, and Conferences.

A Day in the Life:

In this role, you’ll work in tandem with a cross-functional team of software engineers, product owners, data scientists, and contact center experts. You will explore the latest trends in machine learning and generative AI, working backwards from customer challenges to identify how to implement and scale new technology while integrating solutions with the complex help channels advertisers use daily.

About the Team:

The SP&S team develops solutions and libraries used by teams across Amazon Advertising to deliver timely, personalized assistance. Our goal is to anticipate advertiser issues and proactively provide intelligent guidance. As an Applied Scientist, you will help the team realize its vision of innovating contact center technologies by building and leveraging LLMs trained on advertising support knowledge.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in building business application models.
  • A PhD or a Master's degree with at least 4 years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in patents or publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with algorithms, data structures, parsing techniques, numerical optimization, data mining, and high-performance computing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience in a professional software development setting.

The compensation for this position is competitive, and includes a base salary range of 142,800.00 - 193,200.00 USD annually, along with sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Comprehensive benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
