Director of Talent Acquisition (Engineering)

Location: New York or Chicago (Hybrid – 4 days in office)

Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer

Compensation: $170k – $180k base

We are partnering with a global engineering and consulting organization to appoint a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead and evolve their US recruitment function. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping talent acquisition strategy, building high‑performing teams, and ensuring the business attracts top‑tier talent to support continued growth.

This individual will operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, driving workforce planning, enhancing employer brand, and embedding best‑in‑class recruiting processes across experienced hires and early‑career programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the talent acquisition strategy aligned to business growth and workforce planning
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing TA team across regions
  • Partner with executive leadership to forecast hiring demand and build proactive pipelines
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment delivery, ensuring efficiency and strong candidate experience
  • Implement innovative sourcing strategies across direct sourcing, referrals, and digital channels
  • Optimize ATS, recruitment technology, and data analytics to drive decision‑making
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and hiring managers
  • Embed DEI principles across hiring practices and drive diverse hiring outcomes
  • Strengthen employer branding and EVP initiatives
  • Define and track recruitment KPIs, providing insights to leadership

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including leadership roles
  • Experience recruiting within engineering, consulting, or related technical environments
  • Proven track record building and scaling talent acquisition functions
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Experience leveraging recruitment technology and analytics
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development capability
