Womenful Voice is committed to empowering Haitian women and girls through knowledge, resources, opportunities, and advocacy to drive economic growth and create long‑term positive outcomes. Since its inception, the organization has supported over 1000 women and girls in North East Haiti over the past 5 years, fostering leadership, career development, and a sense of community. Womenful Voice initiates educational programs, mentorship, and advocacy efforts to challenge gender stereotypes and empower women to become transformative leaders within their communities. For the past 2 years we saw an increase of 1000% in sexual violence. With a goal to impact 10,000 more rural women by 2029, the organization is steadfast in its mission to promote gender equality and inclusive development, collaborating with partners and volunteers to create lasting change. We aim to create a future where women thrive, lead, and transform their societies. We are looking for women and men who are passionate about women equality and want to support minorities in Haiti.
Role Description
This is a volunteer, remote role for a Director on the Womenful Voice Board of Directors. The Director will provide strategic guidance and governance, ensuring the organization remains aligned with its mission and achieves its objectives. Key responsibilities include participating in board meetings, contributing to the development and oversight of policies, assisting with fundraising initiatives, fostering partnerships with external organizations, and serving as an ambassador for Womenful Voice. The position emphasizes collaboration with other board members while advocating for the empowerment and socio‑economic advancement of women and girls in Haiti.
Qualifications
- Leadership, strategic planning, and organizational governance skills
- Experience in fundraising, partnership development, and nonprofit advocacy
- Strong communication, collaboration, and networking abilities
- Passion for gender equality, empowerment programs, and social change initiatives
- Knowledge of non‑profit operations or previous board or leadership experience (preferred)
- Commitment to dedicating time and resources to the role on a regular basis
- Ability to work effectively within a remote and collaborative team environment
Financial Commitment
Financial investment in the organization: $1000 give or get. $300 dollars is requested at the time of onboarding to secure your D&O insurance.
