Your role as the Bilingual Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for review and approval of files for a portfolio of Affordable properties, monitoring the file compliance and move-in activity for the portfolio, and preparing state and other reports as required by the syndicators, monitors, and trustees of the affordable properties. Review and approve (through application software) prospective resident applications including review of credit, criminal reports, income verifications, child support verifications, asset verifications, and other addendums and affidavits necessary to prove compliance with all regulations and requirements of affordable programs. Prepare and review annual and monthly reports to the State Agencies to prove continuing compliance. Prepare and review quarterly reports to various investors, syndicators and trustees. Assist in preparing the properties in the portfolio for upcoming State Audits. Review resident income certification documentation before move-in, including accuracy of the lease, addendums, and Tenant Income Certification information. Monitor, review and approve annual recertification documentation based on state requirements. Monitor and review all lists of corrections necessary found on any recertification or move in paperwork. Provide daily customer service to property portfolio by answering questions and offering guidance to the affordable properties. Monitor Utility Allowance information on a quarterly basis and advise of any changes necessary to rent payments. Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of Compliance regulations and Must be well-organized and able to multi-task Fluent in Spanish Minimal travel may be required. Experience in NCHFA, FHFC & TDHCA Prior multi-family compliance experience a must. Strong attention to detail a must. High School diploma required College degree strongly preferred. Excellent written, verbal and customer service skills. Proficient in current technology. Proven track record in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with management team. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with senior executives and in teams.
