Role The Director Regulatory provides strategic leadership and oversight for the company’s regulatory function, including both the Regulatory Compliance (Orders) and Environmental Compliance functions. Responsible for ensuring that all operations, customer deployments, construction projects, and facility management activities comply with applicable laws and agency regulations relating to the FCC, FAA, EPA, NEPA, NHPA, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Water Act, and USFWS, among others. The role also includes developing appropriate processes and procedures, training employees, and compliance reporting. The Director balances regulatory risk with business objectives in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee order‑based regulatory and environmental compliance programs to ensure consistent, high‑quality regulatory outcomes.
Oversee regulatory reviews, approvals, and close‑out activities associated with customer orders, applications, and deployment initiatives.
Ensure regulatory determinations are accurate, timely, and aligned with business priorities.
Drive continuous improvement of regulatory processes to improve efficiency, predictability, and cycle times.
Oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including reporting, permitting, and incident management.
Ensure effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of compliance risks.
Serve as a senior escalation point for complex regulatory and environmental compliance issues.
Lead, mentor, and develop regulatory specialists and senior professionals across both teams.
Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and development plans.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
Communicate complex regulatory requirements and risk considerations clearly to senior leadership and executive audiences.
Provide insights and information related to regulatory considerations as new business opportunities arise.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, and drive compliance initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret and apply regulatory compliance requirements to practical business scenarios.
Ability to navigate through a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, adapt to changing regulatory landscapes, and drive continuous improvement in compliance processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Proven ability to identify and assess environmental compliance risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement effective control measures.
Strong software skills, including Microsoft Office products.
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Business Administration, Construction or Project Management, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CEP, CHMM, REM, PMP) preferred.
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance, preferably within telecommunications, environmental compliance, or a similarly regulated industry.
Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying regulations to complex infrastructure projects.
Hands‑on experience with environmental spill/incident response, hazardous materials management, and regulatory reporting.
Experience working with regulatory agencies and external consultants.
Familiarity with permitting wireless infrastructure projects.
Experience developing and delivering environmental safety training.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience with due diligence, audits, and risk mitigation strategies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental management systems.
Organizational Relationship Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): Supervisor Regulatory, Manager Environmental Compliance
Working Conditions This role falls into our current hybrid work model, which is 2‑days remote and 3‑days in the office. To optimize collaboration, relationship building, and key stakeholder engagement, starting 07/06/2026 we will move to a 4:1 hybrid model which is in‑office Monday‑Thursday with the option for remote work on Fridays.
