Interim Senior Accountant / Project Accounting (Onsite)
Vaco is partnering with a client to identify an experienced interim senior accountant to support the accounting team during a period of increased complexity and growth. This role is 100% onsite and requires a strong, hands‑on GL accountant who can quickly step in and deliver accurate, insightful work.
Duration:
Up to 6 months (3–4 months most likely; minimum 2 months) Target Start:
April 13 (post month‑end close)
Responsibilities
Full-cycle GL accounting including journal entries and account reconciliations
Apply judgment in capitalization vs expense decisions, including gray areas (e.g., technology projects in development)
Perform variance analysis (budget vs actual, actual vs historical) and research drivers
Pull data from ERP systems and deliver clear, business-ready reporting
Support project accounting activities (strong plus)
Prepare Excel-based analysis and PowerPoint-ready summaries
Requirements
Strong GL accounting and month-end close experience
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, pivots)
Experience with large ERP systems; BlackLine a plus
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and accurate
Strong business acumen and communication skills
Compensation and Benefits Salary range will be disclosed as required by local law. The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and includes medical, dental, vision benefits and a 401(k) retirement plan.
