Residential Account Manager – Interior Design & Sales Location: Fort Wayne, IN Position Overview
Home Floor Designs is looking for a design-minded, sales-driven Residential Account Manager to create exceptional flooring experiences for homeowners. This role is equal parts interior design consultant and relationship builder—someone who can walk into a space, understand a client’s vision, and confidently guide them to the right products while driving revenue. You won’t just be selling floors—you’ll be helping clients bring their homes to life. This is a consultative, showroom-to-project role ideal for someone who enjoys design, thrives in client-facing environments, and takes pride in turning conversations into completed projects. What You’ll Do
Design Consultation & Client Experience
Meet with homeowners, builders, and designers to understand style, function, and budget. Guide clients through flooring selections including hardwood, carpet, tile, and LVP with a strong eye for design and detail. Help clients visualize the finished space by connecting products to overall home aesthetics and trends. Deliver a high-end, personalized showroom experience that builds trust and confidence. Own the full sales cycle from first conversation to signed contract. Build relationships with homeowners, builders, realtors, and interior designers to generate repeat and referral business. Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products that enhance the overall design and value of the project. Consistently meet or exceed sales and margin goals. Project Coordination
Prepare quotes, proposals, and project details with accuracy and attention to detail. Partner with operations and installation teams to ensure a seamless transition from sale to install. Stay engaged throughout the project, providing updates and ensuring client satisfaction. Showroom Presence
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually inspiring showroom environment. Keep displays fresh, on-trend, and aligned with current design styles and customer preferences. Create an atmosphere that feels more like a design studio than a sales floor. What We’re Looking For
Background in interior design, flooring, home improvement, or consultative sales. Strong eye for design, color coordination, and spatial awareness. Natural ability to connect with people and guide them through decisions with confidence. Sales-driven mindset with the ability to close and grow accounts. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects at once. Comfortable using CRM systems, quoting tools, and design resources. Self-motivated, accountable, and professional. Why Join Home Floor Designs?
Be part of the Jack Laurie Group, a trusted and growing name in flooring and interiors. Work in a role that blends creativity, design, and sales. Collaborative culture built on Integrity, Accountability, Candor, and Teamwork. Strong earning potential with base + commission structure. Opportunity to grow within a stable, family-owned organization.
