Description and Requirements Help us make Smarter AI a reality for all!

As DataCenter Technical Sales Leader, you are responsible for our DataCenter Technical Sales Specialists in Germany and Austria as people manager, providing leadership in operational topics while you grow our organizational capabilities in client engagements as well as channel enablement. You collaborate with your Public, Enterprise, and MidMarket Sales Manager peers to grow our data center business. In your manager role, you handle operational prioritization and escalation tasks while in your leader role you foster and develop key capabilities of your department and each individual to make technical client engagements more impactful and grow our business partners capabilities in Lenovo data center technologies and solutions.

Our current DataCenter Technical Sales Manager will hand-over his current role to you during a planned hand-over period before retiring. You will get to know your team in-depth while you receive training in our solution portfolio, essential tools and processes. You will also receive practical training for experienced managers on our Lenovo culture and key HR processes to ensure a fast and successful start in your role at Lenovo.

You are part of the GAT (Germany, Austria) CTO organization, reporting to the CTO for GAT. You will collaborate with our EMEA and global teams, joining not only the best technical sales team in the world, but also our technical sales family at Lenovo.

What to expect? or: Your Role & Responsibilities

You are responsible for our experienced data center technical pre-sales specialists as people manager as well as inspiring leader, driving outcomes and change in collaboration and as part of our Lenovo management team in Germany and Austria. This includes business planning to achieve KPIs as well as developing our talents and organizational capabilities in our transformation to a solution-led sales approach.

You work with your peers at our business partners to increase our partners’ technical capabilities to drive and support the Lenovo data center business. You also collaborate with key technology partners to stay ahead of innovation in our markets and technology areas.

You will attend and speak at selected key industry events to represent Lenovo data center solutions and strategy in Germany and Austria to further improve visibility for Lenovo in the data center market.

You work closely with the Lenovo sales leaders for the Public, Enterprise, and Midmarket segments as well as our Channel managers to achieve common revenue and profit goals and grow our business based on joint priorities and initiatives. You are the primary point of contact for all questions regarding the Technical Sales Team’s skills and resources.

You actively participate in regular business and technology interlocks to jointly deliver on our objectives and adopt plans and execution based on market and technological developments. In addition, you are participating in regular technical community calls to exchange and learn together.

You will be working flexibly 3 out of 5 days in our Stuttgart office and up to 2 days in your home office – except when travelling to see clients, partners, and attend events. In our office you will build your network within Lenovo and learn from our experienced team. During your initial training period our team members will spend good time with you in our office or at client/partner sites to ensure you have a great onboarding and learning experience as well as become integrated into our extended team.

What to bring? or: Your Profile

5+ years in data center or similar technical roles, with minimum 3 years in a people manager role.

Experience in leading and inspiring technical teams, preferably in technical sales or similar organizations with client- and/or partner-facing responsibilities.

Experience in managing and leading a team remotely that’s spread across Germany and Austria.

Strong people leadership capability, with experience developing technical experts and future leaders.

Demonstrated ability to develop organizational capabilities on department level including change and performance management.

Proven positive change leadership experience in our fast-moving IT industry.

Enthusiasm and experience in public speaking in front of clients and partners.

Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.

Comfortable working in a global, diverse, matrix environment.
