About the Role As a Consulting Manager - POS Product Management, you will make an impact by owning the product vision and roadmap for the modernization of the client’s custom Point of Sale (POS) system. You will be a valued member of the transformation team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, engineering, QA, design teams, and clients.
In this role, you will:
Define and drive the product vision and strategy for POS modernization, gathering and prioritizing requirements through stakeholder interviews, site visits, user research, and market analysis.
Use AI tools to analyze the existing POS codebase and documentation, extracting features and business rules, and translating these into well-defined epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Operate AI tooling to generate structured requirements and user story sets, guiding and supervising the AI at each decision gate, and conducting structured scope interviews to ensure completeness and alignment with customer value.
Collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and design teams through all Agile ceremonies, maintaining the product backlog and prioritizing stories that deliver the highest business impact.
Work with development and architecture teams to guide the refactoring and technical upgrade of the POS platform, including planning data migration, integrating new technologies, and coordinating system tests and pilots.
Act as the liaison among business stakeholders and technical teams, communicating progress, trade-offs, and outcomes, and building feedback loops with operations and store managers.
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the POS, using data to guide product decisions and continuously seeking opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve the POS.

What you must have to be considered
5+ years of product management experience in retail technology, payments, or POS solutions, with a proven track record managing a product through its full lifecycle.
Deep understanding of POS systems and retail checkout processes, including hardware, software, and payment systems. Familiarity with convenience-store operations is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to write precise, testable Gherkin acceptance criteria for complex, multi-path retail transaction scenarios.
Strong background in Agile/Lean methodologies and working in Scrum teams, with experience writing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and collaborating closely with engineering and QA.
Familiarity with generative AI or knowledge-engineering tools (especially Anthropic’s Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, etc.) for requirement discovery, story drafting, and test case generation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interview users and stakeholders, present roadmaps, and explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g. MBA, PMP, CSPO) are a plus.
These will help you succeed
Prior experience with convenience-store chains or retail technology projects (e.g. mobile POS, payment terminals, loyalty integration).
Knowledge of cloud-based and mobile POS platforms, and experience migrating on-premise POS to cloud services or implementing omnichannel features.
Understanding of data privacy and PCI compliance requirements for payment systems, and experience integrating POS with ERP, inventory, or loyalty systems.
Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic thought partner, guiding product direction and aligning teams through modernization.
