Job Overview Lockheed Martin Business Transformation & Enablement organization role supports the OneLockheedMartin Transformation (1LMX) Model Based Enterprise (MBE) portfolio. The MBE Enablement organization is seeking a Chief Architect to lead the definition, implementation and sustainment of solution architectures across Engineering, Operations, Sustainment, and Supply Chain.

The MBE Chief Architect is the technical advocate for the MBE portfolio solutions and is accountable for the architectural definition and integrity of all deployed products. The selected candidate will be the lead architect for the Model Based Enterprise portfolio and will partner with peers from ERP, MES and other functional areas to ensure cross‑portfolio alignment. The role works closely with the 1LMX Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) organization and the 1LMX Chief Architect to maintain the portfolio’s technical baseline, define architecture standards, guide integration and test strategies, and oversee change, configuration management, and product release processes.

The individual provides architectural leadership to agile product teams embedded in 1LMX MBE, shaping solution architectures, technology roadmaps, and reference models. The candidate must be comfortable engaging with executive leadership and peers across adjacent organizations to plan and execute multiple high‑visibility projects that span a broad scope.

This position is fully remote and requires U.S. citizenship due to systems access.

Responsibilities — Oversee architectural definition and integrity of all deployed products across the MBE portfolio.

— Partner with ERP, MES, and other functional peers to ensure cross‑portfolio alignment.

— Work closely with 1LMX SEIT and the 1LMX Chief Architect to maintain technical baseline, define standards, guide integration and test strategies, and manage change, configuration, and release processes.

— Provide architectural leadership to agile product teams, shaping solution architectures, technology roadmaps, and reference models.

— Engage with executive leadership and adjacent organization peers to plan and execute high‑visibility multi‑portfolio projects.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 12 years of experience in IT architecture, systems engineering lifecycle, and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.

Domain experience or subject matter expertise in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Sustainment functions.

Significant experience developing and executing technical plans/roadmaps and solutions architectures.

Proven track record partnering with IT Systems Engineers, Software Development teams, and business stakeholders to design and implement complex, enterprise‑wide solutions.

Expertise in system analysis, requirements decomposition, verification, and requirements management from an architectural perspective.

Strong understanding of integration and test strategies, including automated testing approaches.

Proficiency with modeling tools such as Cameo, DOORS, or equivalent.

U.S. Citizenship required due to Defense Systems Access.

Desired Skills

Experience supporting major IT business applications such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).

Background in risk and opportunity management as it pertains to architectural decisions and trade studies.

Demonstrated ability to apply Agile principles to large‑scale IT programs while preserving architectural governance.

Certified ADQP Advanced Architect.

Work Schedule:

4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Alternate work schedules and condensed schedules are available to add flexibility.

Remote Work:

Full‑time remote telework; employees may travel to Lockheed Martin offices for periodic meetings.

Compensation The annual base salary range varies by region:

California, Massachusetts, New York: $189,000 - $327,635 (excluding most major metropolitan areas).

Other states: $164,300 - $289,800.
