Senior Manager Signature Management – Sustainment
Lockheed Martin, Fort Worth, TX, United States
Job Description
You will be the Senior Manager Signature Management – Sustainment for the Signature Management Sustainment team which is responsible for safeguarding the F‑35’s low‑observable advantage throughout its operational life cycle. What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Manager Signature Management – Sustainment you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of senior scientists, reliability engineers, and data analysts to monitor, update, and re‑qualify LO technologies as they age, encounter new threat spectra, or integrate with emerging upgrades. Your Responsibilities Will Include
Planning and overseeing sustainment‑focused experiments, life‑cycle testing, and signature performance trend analyses for the F‑35 fleet. Coordinating IP assessments, patent continuation, and technology‑transfer activities with Legal, Business Development, and external research partners. Serving as the senior technical liaison to program leadership, international customers, and allied industry experts on sustainment‑related signature issues. Championing a data‑driven, safety‑first culture that enables continuous improvement of LO capability throughout the aircraft’s service life. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Materials Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics). Direct experience with life cycle LO material performance, degradation mechanisms, and retrofit integration. Understanding of Production, Sustainment, and Modernization phases as they impact signature requirements. At least 12 years of scientific research combined with program management responsibility, including oversight of senior level technical professionals. Proven ability to build, mentor, and guide high performing technical teams. Desired Skills
Master’s degree preferred. Superior communication skills, with the ability to present detailed technical findings to senior leadership, external customers, and cross functional stakeholders. Demonstrated success in diagnosing and resolving complex, fleet wide signature performance degradations and delivering corrective action plans. Strong mentorship background – cultivating technical expertise and succession pipelines for sustainment research and analysis. Experience managing long term sustainment programs that incorporate field data, statistical reliability modeling, and lifecycle cost considerations. Ability to translate strategic sustainment objectives into concrete research roadmaps that meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. Wide exposure to an international customer base and familiarity with differing national signature management policies and expectations. Who You Are
You are a collaborative technical leader with deep expertise in low‑observable sustainment. You excel at translating field data into actionable research programs, guiding senior‑level professionals, and safeguarding intellectual property while ensuring compliance with defense acquisition regulations. Your ability to influence stakeholders and foster a high‑integrity, safety‑centric environment makes this role a pivotal platform for extending the F‑35’s strategic advantage. Requirements
