Your Role in our Mission Our mission is to make the world a better place to work, and to achieve this mission we need to ensure our contracts with a variety of owners are accurate and won’t cause an issue in the long term. This role will coordinate and manage the legal affairs of the U.S. business unit. You will operate with a high degree of independence, judgment, and ownership, serving as a trusted partner to internal business teams. This will include negotiating contracts and managing compliance matters applicable to the U.S. business unit. Your approach is pragmatic and collaborative.
Key Responsibilities
Providing general legal and compliance support across the U.S. business, and assisting Head of Legal if required
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial agreements using approved templates (e.g., NDAs, SaaS, consulting, vendor and supplier agreements) with minimal supervision
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of U.S. commercial contracts; including NDAs, MSAs, SoWs, sales, partner/referral, SaaS/PaaS/technology agreements, licensing contracts, retail and supplier agreements, in addition to other corporate documents relevant to the U.S.
Instructing and managing outside counsel as and when required
Managing litigations and IP matters (with the support from global RGER Legal team and external counsel)
Managing corporate legal databases and contract management systems; maintain accurate digital contract files and ensure version control
Providing assistance regarding data privacy and compliance matters with the support of internal and external subject matter experts
Assisting the bid teams with U.S. RFPs, security and privacy audits and questionnaires, and other similar documentation from external partners/customers
Implementing legal, compliance, and risk management best practices across the U.S. business region
Working with the RGER global legal team to identify areas of improvement and drive efficiency into the contracting process with internal and external stakeholders
Identifying legal and business risk areas in third‑party terms and proposing practical, business‑aligned solutions and fallback positions
Managing and continuously improving contracting tools, processes, and controls, including contract lifecycle management systems, deadline tracking, and version control
Serving as primary point of contact for routine commercial contracting inquiries; exercising judgment on when to elevate matters to legal counsel
Coordinating contract intake, triage, and workflow management through contract management systems
Tracking key contract terms, renewal dates, and obligations; preparing contract summaries and supporting documentation for internal stakeholders
Skills
Paralegal certification (CP or equivalent) or relevant training
Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, business, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience as a paralegal or contract specialist supporting commercial and corporate transactions, gained in a law firm and/or in‑house environment; OR relevant paralegal certification with a minimum of 8 years of experience
Experience supporting in‑house legal departments (if law firm background)
Background in SaaS, technology, or fast‑paced commercial environment
Familiarity with data privacy principles (GDPR, CCPA)
Technical understanding and proficiency in reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
Experience with the laws of Massachusetts together with an understanding of other major U.S. state laws
Experience of handling data privacy issues in the context of commercial transactions
Experience managing compliance issues within an in‑house tech business
The ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple complex projects simultaneously
Excellent written, oral, listening, and organizational skills with proven ability to interact effectively with varied internal audiences
Ability to take on new challenges and work independently, with a “can‑do” attitude, in a very fast‑paced and constantly evolving business environment
Experience with contract management software (e.g., Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Agiloft, Concord, Coupa, or similar platforms)
Proficiency in reviewing and redlining contracts using Microsoft Word or similar tools
Strong relationship‑building skills with a practical, business‑focused approach to problem‑solving and stakeholder support
Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced, global, cross‑functional environment while delivering high‑quality, timely outcomes
Intellectual curiosity and commitment to staying informed on relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidance impacting commercial contracts and operations
