The ideal candidate will have:

Sophisticated law firm experience on complex corporate or M&A matters

Managing complex M&A projects and timelines, interacting with subject matter experts and junior resources, preparing equity and asset purchase agreements and ancillary documentation, and conducting and summarizing legal due diligence in M&A transactions, with an emphasis on private equity transactions and private target M&A

Significant attention to detail and ability to interact successfully with clients, investment bankers, and other advisors

Excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to distill complex information into actionable advice and manage client engagements

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Real Estate Associate (3–5 years of experience) to join our growing New York office. This is a unique opportunity to advance your career within a practice that is both highly respected and strategically expanding across the U.S. Our firm places real estate at the center of its global strategy, and this role offers direct access to high-profile clients and complex, cross-market transactions working with team members in jurisdictions across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Structuring and executing acquisitions, dispositions, and financings across diverse asset classes (office, retail, logistics, healthcare/senior living, student housing, hospitality, data centers)

Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, commercial leases, and joint venture agreements

Conducting and managing due diligence, including title, survey, environmental, and zoning reviews

Advising on development projects from entitlement through completion

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across tax, construction, planning & zoning, and other practice areas

Supporting clients with day‑to‑day operational real‑estate matters, including lease amendments, assignments, subleases, and tenant issues

Qualifications Required:

J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials

3–5 years of commercial real‑estate experience at a nationally recognized law firm

Admission to the New York Bar

Demonstrated experience in real‑estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing

Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

Preferred:

Experience with multi‑jurisdictional transactions

Familiarity with real‑estate development and capital markets structures

Exposure to institutional clients, private equity funds, and REITs

At the time of posting, the estimated range is $215,000 to $310,000. Senior Leasing Attorney Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) is seeking a highly experienced Senior Leasing Attorney with 10 or more years of sophisticated commercial real‑estate leasing experience to join our nationally recognized Real Estate Practice. This position offers the flexibility to sit in any U.S. BCLP office and may be structured as either a staff attorney or partner‑track role, depending on the candidate’s background.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience representing national and international landlords and tenants in retail, office, industrial, mixed‑use, and ground‑lease transactions. The attorney should be confident managing complex leasing portfolios, negotiating high‑value leases, and providing practical, business‑oriented advice to clients.

You’ll be responsible for:

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial leases, including retail, office, industrial, mixed use, and ground leases.

Advise clients on leasing strategy, risk mitigation, portfolio management, and real‑estate operations.

Handle amendments, subleases, assignments, estoppels, SNDAs, and related agreements.

Manage transactions efficiently from engagement through execution, communicating proactively with clients and internal teams.

Work collaboratively with real‑estate colleagues across the firm’s U.S. and international offices.

Skills and experience required:

J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the state of location preference (or ability to become admitted promptly).

10+ years of focused commercial leasing experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department.

Comprehensive understanding of leasing market terms, deal structures, and industry dynamics.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast paced, client focused environment.

Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Experience with national or multi‑state leasing portfolios is strongly preferred.
