is seeking a skilled Contract Specialist to assist with a classified project in support of the
USAID
based out in Washington, DC, hybrid, in office 3 days a week.
USAID is seeking a Termination Contract Specialist. The specialist will provide expert guidance on the procedural, legal, and operational requirements for terminating contracts, ensuring compliance with USAID and U.S. Government regulations. This is a hybrid, full-time role working closely with Contracting Officers (COs), legal counsel, technical offices, and partners.
What You’ll Do
Advise on terminations for convenience or default of contracts. Individuals must have demonstrated abilities to assimilate and apply knowledge on all types of award mechanisms quickly and efficiently.
Prepare all required documentation for award terminations, including termination notices, determinations and findings, negotiation memoranda, and settlement agreements.
Interpret and apply applicable sections of the FAR and USAID supplemental regulations and policies.
Process actions in USAID’s contracts and financial management system.
Coordinate with the Office of General Counsel, technical teams, and implementing partners to manage the termination process.
Assess financial, contractual, and programmatic implications of terminations and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure post-termination actions, including audits, final payments, and closeouts, are completed in compliance with USAID policy.
Develop guidance, templates, and training materials to strengthen USAID’s institutional approach to award terminations.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of U.S. Government grant management experience.
No prior experience supporting USAID
Bachelor’s degree in business
FAC-C Professional or CFCM Certifications
Capability to quickly assimilate new information and become proficient in topics for which they may not have knowledge, e.g. Government to Government, Title II, Interagency Awards, and Public International Organizations.
Salary
$75,000 - $85,000 + Benefits
