Job Description Student Activities and Intervention Coordinator
The Student Activities and Intervention Coordinator will play a vital role in fostering a positive and engaging school environment while supporting the academic, behavioral, and social success of all students. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all middle school athletic programs and student activities, ensuring they are well-organized, inclusive, and aligned with the school's mission and expectations. In addition, the coordinator will lead efforts to identify, monitor, and support students in need of academic, attendance, and behavioral interventions, working collaboratively with administration and staff to implement effective systems of support.
Qualifications
Valid Missouri teaching certificate
Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience
Masters in Administration is required (Certification in School Administration is preferred)
Minimum three years experience as a successful head coach, director, or sponsor of a MSHSAA activity/athletic program

Student Activities and Intervention Coordinator will report directly to building principal
Duties The duties of the Student Activities and Intervention Coordinator will include, but will not be limited to, the following key duties:
Provide leadership and oversight for all middle school athletic programs and student activities, including scheduling, supervision, and event coordination, utilizing strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
Collaborate and coordinate with the high school activities director to ensure alignment of programs, expectations, and student opportunities
Organize, communicate, and facilitate all student activities, events, and extracurricular participation, including initiatives that promote connection and school pride.
Coordinate and facilitate the bi-weekly student drug testing process, ensuring procedures are followed with consistency and confidentiality
Lead the development and implementation of systems to identify and support at‑risk students in the areas of academics, attendance, and behavior, demonstrating a strong understanding of intervention systems and best practices
Utilize multiple data sources (attendance, grades, behavior, student assessments, and other indicators) to identify student needs, monitor progress, and develop targeted intervention plans
Provide targeted attendance support, with a primary focus on students at or slightly below 90% attendance
Collaborate effectively with counselors, administrators, teachers, and families to design, implement, and monitor student support plans
Identify and support at‑risk incoming 7th grade students by reviewing data, collaborating with sending schools, and developing transition supports
Meet with new students to build relationships, assess needs, and connect them with appropriate supports and resources
Serve as a key support in maintaining a positive and structured school environment during lunch periods
Establish and reinforce clear expectations for student behavior using effective classroom management and engagement strategies
Intentionally build relationships with students identified for academic, attendance, or behavioral intervention during lunch.
Ensure consistent follow‑through with expectations and consequences
Support and coordinate student celebrations and positive behavior recognition
Fulfill supervisory responsibilities as assigned, including morning supervision duties, and serve as on‑call backup for morning and afternoon supervision as needed
Support the implementation of school‑wide behavior expectations and systems that promote a positive, student‑centered school culture
Communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and families, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
Maintain accurate records related to student activities, interventions, and attendance supports
Collaborate with staff during Professional Learning Community (PLC) time to review student data, problem‑solve, and align intervention strategies, contributing as an active member of the leadership team
Organize, communicate, and facilitate all student activities, events, and extracurricular participation, including initiatives that promote connection and school pride.
Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills, the ability to proactively respond to student needs, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively
Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal to support the overall success of the school
