As a Mechanical Designer, you’ll play a key role in developing innovative products—from initial concept through production. You’ll work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to design efficient, reliable solutions while ensuring designs are optimized for real-world production.
What You’ll Do
Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks
Support product development from concept (clean sheet) through final release
Develop layouts, sketches, and preliminary designs
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to refine designs
Evaluate existing assemblies to understand function and improve designs
Ensure designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards
Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes to optimize designs for production
Provide technical support and value-added input throughout the project lifecycle
What You Bring
Associate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Design, CAD, or related field (preferred)
5+ years of hands‑on design experience (product design or manufacturing preferred)
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (required)
Experience creating detailed drawings and assemblies for production
Working knowledge of sheet metal design and materials (preferred)
Familiarity with PDM, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools
Understanding of fabrication methods, including:
Machining
Stamping and forming
Sheet metal cutting and fabrication
Tooling/fixture design
Mechanical/electrical assembly
Skills & Attributes
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate across teams and work directly with customers
Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency
