
Mechanical Designer

I’m currently partnering with a
growing U.S. manufacturer that designs and builds specialized equipment used in the energy sector . They are looking to add an experienced
Mechanical Designer III
to their engineering team in the Houston area.
This position will focus on
3D modeling, technical drawings, and design support for mechanical components and assemblies , working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to support product development and production.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain
3D models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)
Revise and update existing designs based on engineering changes and project requirements
Create component and assembly drawings from
sketches, marked prints, and engineering input
Perform
dimensional fit checks and design reviews
to ensure proper functionality
Generate layouts, diagrams, and technical documentation for engineering packages
Maintain organized drawing files and assist with engineering documentation controlWork closely with
manufacturing teams to ensure designs support efficient production
Support special engineering projects as needed
Occasionally assist with
field applications or customer-related design support
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or higher
in engineering, drafting, or a related technical discipline
6+ years of mechanical design experience , ideally within
oil & gas or industrial equipment manufacturing
Strong experience with
SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
Familiarity with
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Solid understanding of
component and assembly design
Ability to work independently in a
fast-paced engineering environment
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple design tasks
