About the Position The Criminal Investigations Division encompasses all law enforcement and forensic components residing within the Department of Financial Services. This advertisement is for the Bureau of Support Services, Quartermaster Section. This advertisement is for a Property Specialist position which is a NON‑SWORN position.
Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent.
A minimum of two (2) years of professional work experience in one or more of the following areas: Records, Property Inventory Control, Warehousing, and/or purchasing. A post‑secondary degree from an accredited university/college may be used as an alternative on a year‑for‑year basis.
Professional work experience generally includes roles with administrative, supervisory, analytical, or operational responsibilities in structured or corporate settings. Entry‑level roles in the service or retail industry (e.g., McDonald’s, Publix) typically do not qualify.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability and skills to effectively use this software.
Physical Requirements
Lift/Carry – 40 lbs.
Sit/Stand moderate periods.
Push/Pull moderate heavy loads.
Ambulate independently.
Climb (ladder, stairs, etc.).
Bend, squat, stoop, crawl.
Driving Requirements
Demonstrated ability to safely operate a variety of vehicles (e.g., sedans, vans, light trucks) across city and state routes.
Skillful in maneuvering and parking vehicles in tight or congested areas, including garages, event venues, and urban environments.
Must be able to perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
Comfortable driving for extended periods and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
Must pass FDOT Defensive Driving Course if selected.
Valid Driver’s License from the Florida Department of Safety and Motor Vehicles by time of employment.

Special consideration may be given to eligible candidates who have bilingual verbal and written skills that meet a critical need of the agency’s mission.

Brief Description of Duties Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.
Administrative Functions (Quartermaster)
Assists the Division’s Quartermaster in researching, ordering, purchasing, issuing, and receiving equipment.
Performs administrative functions of the Office of Professional Development to include reviewing, auditing, and entering data related to Division equipment into the Division’s Skill Manager database.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of statistical data and files relating to the Division’s equipment.
Maintains all assigned equipment; prepares records and reports; and attends meetings, seminars, and training programs as required.
Creates and maintains a digital log for the regularly changing inventory of items to include fleet and equipment.
Fleet Management Functions
Safely operates and maneuvers vehicles through city and state routes, including expertly parking in tight or congested areas to ensure efficient use of space and prevent damage.
Moves vehicles and warehouse equipment as needed.
Assists the Division’s Fleet Manager as needed.
Performs related work as required.
