
Media Manager

The Specialist ‐ Media Management is a direct liaison with news and program producers having full overview of incoming media and media processes in the program asset management system and media asset management system. The Specialist demonstrates full knowledge of file-based workflows, servers, storage, network and video codecs.
This is a temporary role for 12 weeks.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure the workflows and processes are followed as per the media management guiding documents and SOP’s Collaborate with newsroom producers, program producers, on‐field cameraperson‐journalists, agencies and post‐production studios Process media for internal and external clients in accordance with SOP’s, maintaining quality and timely delivery Support the Supervisor to apply workflow improvements in the transcoding and delivery processes Apply housekeeping policies and proper use of DMZ NAS, Production asset management, Signiant and MAM systems Prioritize requests to avoid bottlenecks and streamline all processes in media hubs Carry out card ingesting, file ingesting and reviewing the quality of the file‐based ingests Manage and facilitate the process of sharing the content between client channels and broadcast centers as instructed Export of media clips via MediaView or DVD applying quality output Support the documenting of all workflows, policies and procedures and aligning to the centralized approach across the network Capture KPI data and generate daily, weekly and monthly reports as instructed May be required to travel to assist in times of breaking news stories or field assignments Perform other duties as assigned across the client network Skills & Qualifications
Willing to accept shift work in a 24/7 breaking news environment Fluent in English. Fluency in Arabic is an advantage. An understanding of global news and current affairs and an eye for detail Technical ability within a broadcast environment A demonstrable understanding of video formats, servers, FTP and broadcast production Able to deal with competing demands and remain calm under pressure Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in media, IT, communications, or relevant news experience 2+ years’ experience working in a technical or file-based broadcast environment. A demonstrated interest in News and Current Affairs Customer Service Commitment
