About Democratic National Committee We’re hiring! Are you fired up to elect Democrats up and down the ticket? The DNC seeks a seasoned Deputy Communications Director for States to oversee the Committee’s state communications program. As part of the DNC’s senior communications team, the Deputy Communications Director for States will manage state and local reporter contacts across the country, find opportunities to insert local narratives into national media, support all 57 Democratic state and territory parties with communications assistance, interface with and support sister committees, and manage the DNC’s state communications team, including a Deputy States Communications Director and Press Assistant. Responsibilities: Work in coordination with the Communications Director and the rest of the DNC’s senior communications team to drive democratic messaging across the country in all 50 states. Manage state and local press contacts, in coordination with the Deputy States Communications Director, and maintain strong relationships with national media who report on state and local news. Find creative ways to insert state and local narratives into national media, particularly with the midterms approaching. Conversely, find creative ways to insert messaging about Trump and Republican’s impact on everyday Americans into state and local media. Support and coordinate messaging with all 57 Democratic state and territory parties including drafting guidance and toolkits, coordinating on pitches and incoming from press, hosting weekly talkers calls, providing tailored, 1:1 support, and more. Help manage the distribution and quality of written materials every day, from drafting to delivery. Work directly with the DNC’s political team to support DNC programmatic goals and uplift target candidates and races across the country. Work directly with Democratic sister committees to support their organizational objectives leading up to the midterms and beyond. Manage a Deputy States Communications Director and Press Assistant. Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's mission. Qualifications: 10 years of experience in political communications or equivalent experience; Candidates should have deep relationships with and understanding of the Democratic ecosystem; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Sharp organizational and leadership skills; Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment. On the record experience is required for this role. Campaign experience is required for this role. Management experience is required for this role. Salary

: The starting salary for the Deputy Communications Director for States position is $120,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends. Travel

: The Deputy Communications Director for States position will require travel, which could be up to 30% of the time. Due to federal campaign finance rules, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible for this role. See 52 U.S.C. 30121; 11 C.F.R. 110.20(i).
