Supplier Management & Negotiation

Salary Range: $83,500 - $92,250 per year.

The above base pay range may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of Wayfair’s total compensation package for employees. Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commissions and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a comprehensive suite of medical, financial and additional benefits.

Senior Merchant, Joss & Main - Bedroom The Senior Associate Merchant plays a critical role in shaping a high-performing, brand-right assortment. This role combines category expertise, disciplined assortment planning, supplier management, and data-driven decision-making to drive sales, margin, and customer experience.

As the Joss & Main Bedroom Merchant, you own the performance and health of the Bedroom category. You are responsible for delivering the right balance of style, quality, sourcing, timing, and price—fully aligned to Joss & Main’s merchandising strategy.

This role directly impacts assortment quality, supplier strategy, and financial performance.

About Specialty Retail Brands Wayfair’s Specialty Retail Brands (AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main) serve the $60B specialty furniture market and operate as incremental businesses to Wayfair LLC. These brands offer tightly curated assortments of elevated, design-forward products for style-focused customers.

What You’ll Do

Category Ownership & Assortment Strategy

Own the day-to-day health and performance of the Bedroom assortment

Identify assortment gaps and growth opportunities using internal data, competitive insights, and supplier knowledge

Translate product-level insights into broader business impact (sales, margin, customer experience)

Contribute to and execute category strategy aligned with brand vision

Product & Performance Management

Manage the full product lifecycle, from onboarding through exit

Monitor key performance metrics (sales, margin, availability, conversion, funnel performance)

Own must-win SKUs: proactively identify risks and resolve issues across content, supply, or exposure

Recommend SKUs for go-to-market and promotional strategies based on data

Analyze trends, outliers, and performance shifts to drive continuous improvement

Supplier Management & Negotiation

Independently manage supplier relationships within your portfolio

Evaluate vendors and negotiate product costs to optimize margin and competitiveness

Lead strategic conversations with suppliers, aligning assortment decisions to pricing and promotional strategy

Contribute to longer-term supplier strategy and identify growth levers

Cross-Functional Partnership

Partner with Planning, Pricing, Marketing, Creative, and Operations teams to ensure high-priority items are positioned for success

Provide data-driven insights to inform merchandising, promotional, and markdown decisions

Support quality audits and ensure assortment standards are upheld

What You’ll Need

4+ years of experience in e-commerce or corporate retail (buying, merchandising, or home furnishings planning preferred)

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, margin, and performance trends and translate insights into action

Ability to understand and execute against a defined brand vision and aesthetic

Knowledge of product construction, pricing architecture, and supplier dynamics

Strong communication and influencing skills across internal and external stakeholders

Comfort engaging directly with senior-level supplier partners

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership and drive results

Ability to travel (domestic and abroad) up to 5W a year, including occasional weekend travel

In office requirements This is a hybrid role based out of our Boston office (4 days/week in office, 1 day/week remote).
