The SM is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Sales Consultants, ownership of customer satisfaction and sales leadership of the dealership.

Role Responsibilities

Responsible for day to day oversight of sales consultants including:

Recommending hiring plans to General Manager and setting work schedules to ensure staffing levels are commensurate with business and operational needs

Participating in hiring process for new sales consultants

Providing onboarding and training support for sales consultants

Developing sales team members, specifically with regard to ongoing performance feedback and reviews

Ensuring that all employees are conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times and addressing issues when needed

Managing day to day sales team performance, including monthly goal tracking and time and attendance

Motivating sales team members, maintaining employee engagement and creating a positive and productive work environment

Take an active role in the showroom / sales desk management, including working dedicated shifts at the sales desk

Handle customer complaints in a timely and efficient fashion and work with relevant parties to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction

Ensure dealership is in compliance with Federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as applicable manufacturer requirements

Forecast sales goals and objectives

Oversee supply and stocking of new and used vehicles to ensure sufficient stock is maintained for forecasted sales volume

Help maintain McGovern Automotive Group standards for inventory appearance, condition of showroom and display areas, and snow removal

Maintain processes for safeguarding all dealer plates, keys, titles, certificates of origin, and sales paperwork, including needs discovery sheets, customer information, and registry paperwork

Qualifications

Prior automotive sales and people management experience required

Maintains core knowledge of products represented and appropriate McGovern Automotive Group processes and policies

Displays superior customer relationship skills and maintains strong emphasis on customer satisfaction

Demonstrates a high work ethic and exhibits professional and acceptable behaviors at all times
