is seeking an
Outside Sales Engineer
to own and grow the North New Jersey territory, serving as a technical sales resource for manufacturers focused on improving throughput, reliability, and operational efficiency across their production environments. This position is suited for a technically capable sales professional who can prospect independently, develop new customer relationships, and work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to identify performance gaps and recommend engineered solutions.
This role centers on supporting customers with packaging equipment, industrial printing systems, and automation technologies that address real‑world production challenges. It is a hands‑on, field‑based position requiring regular on‑site engagement and offering significant autonomy. The Outside Sales Engineer is supported by an experienced internal team specializing in system integration, engineering, and service to ensure solutions are properly specified, implemented, and supported long‑term.
What You’ll Do:
Manage and strategically grow the North New Jersey sales territory.
Generate new business through cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, and in-person visits.
Develop relationships with manufacturers, operations teams, and key decision‑makers.
Assess existing production lines to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
Recommend technically sound packaging and automation solutions.
Present and demonstrate equipment and systems on‑site.
Collaborate with engineering and service teams to scope and deliver integrated systems.
Prepare proposals, develop quotations, negotiate pricing, and close opportunities.
Maintain accurate CRM activity, pipeline updates, and forecasts.
Attend trade shows, customer visits, and industry events.
Support long‑term customer success through training and post‑installation engagement.
What We’re Looking For:
Must reside in North New Jersey and be able to travel locally.
B2B sales experience within industrial, manufacturing, machinery, or automation sectors preferred.
Comfortable with outbound prospecting and territory development.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand technical equipment and systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and follow‑up skills.
Self‑motivated, accountable, and results‑oriented.
Proficiency with Windows‑based software and CRM tools.
Technical or engineering background preferred, not required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary + uncapped commission.
Realistic earning potential: $75,000-$250,000+.
Mileage and toll reimbursement.
