Assistant Principal - High School Full-Time 12 months

Primary responsibility - Activities Director Activities Director Duties

Develop and maintain an overall effective program for students in co-curricular activities to include athletics, performing, fine arts, and clubs.

Oversee and manage the activity budget and additional flow through monies (fees, gate receipts, etc.).

Coordinate and schedule the school calendar for athletics and fine arts activities, practices, rehearsals and events.

Recommend to Principal to hire, supervise and evaluate coaches, directors and advisors.

Conduct and coordinate seasonal eligibility meetings with parents and participants.

Coordinate officials and transportation for athletics and activities.

Communicate frequently and proactively with students, parents, district, local media and community organizations in relation to school activities, using the best available technology and district resources.

Coordinate and schedule supervision and security of all in-house co-curricular events.

Implement ISD 11, Minnesota State High School League and conference rules and policies.

Develop and regularly update an Athletic/Activity Policy Handbook for staff, students and parents.

Prepare all required reports (e.g., Title IX, participation, budgets).

Schedule and lead coaching and activity staff meetings and training.

Serve as liaison between high school programs and community booster groups.

Serve as mediator for parents, students and coaches/advisors as circumstances require.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Principal in developing and carrying out the school's vision, mission, and goals.

Assist the Principal in the overall administration of the school; interpret and enforce school policies and procedures.

Assume responsibility for implementing and observing school board policies.

Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, staff development, and evaluation of staff members.

Assist teachers in effective lesson plans and classroom preparation.

Supervise, monitor and administer building and District student behavior procedures and policies, making necessary referrals to other staff members and communicating directly with parents, as appropriate.

Serve with parent, faculty, student and community groups as requested in advancing educational and school goals.

Communicate with parents, community members, and parent organizations concerning school programs and activities.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the principal's liaison at school and at professional public meetings in the principal's absence.

Management of Schedule changes for sports and fine arts; Building Security/Safety; Building Usage; Staff Development; schedule and manage night duties for sports and fine arts events all year; prepare or supervise the preparation of reports, records, lists and other required information and data; write letters, memos and other forms of correspondence on the school's behalf.

Plan for and manage summer sports and fine arts activities at the school; approve and arrange field trips; manage all school clubs and set up and schedule all school activities for the fine arts and sports programs.

Attend local, state and national conferences, conventions and workshops as assigned.

Work with our local athletic organizations and develop positive, healthy relationships with all organizations.

Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and the community.

Minimum Qualifications License: Requires Current MN Secondary Principal or K-12 Principal License.

Evidence of successful teaching experience, with supervisory or coordinating experience preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of trends in public education and ability to convey and interpret them to staff. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents/guardians, and community. Ability to lead coaches, advisors and supervisors in a large high school setting. Successful experience in working with diverse populations.

Salary Salary: $134,069 - $156,260, DOQ, plus an excellent flex benefits package. View additional terms and benefits here.
