Parts Counter Person Responsibilities Duties & Responsibilities
Parts Department Advisors are to greet and acknowledge all customers and technicians.
Assist customers' needs by looking up parts, selling items, taking orders, answering phone calls, stocking shelves and receiving merchandise.
Keep the Parts Department clean and orderly.
Accurately charge out parts on repair orders and counter slips.
Accurately post in and receive parts orders
Keep up to date with brand training requirements
Follow up on parts orders and shortages.
Report discrepancies to Part Manager.
Maintain a friendly environment with technicians, service advisors, and customers.
Inform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your department
Be early, flexible and available for scheduling.
Focus on Quality and Service.
Demonstrate an interest in growing the parts business.
Use dealership equipment respectfully and safely.
Maintain a clean and neat appearance.
Perform duties as requested by management.
Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
Maintains awareness of safety and follows workplace safety requirements.
Qualifications
Brand parts experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to speak and listen effectively one on one.
Ability to interpret customer/technician needs.
Basic computer skills.
Good organizational skills.
Valid driver’s license.
High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
