Senior Estimator
to join its Estimating / Pre-Construction team. Position Overview The Senior Estimator gathers, calculates, and compiles data for use in conceptual and bid proposal estimates. This position prepares estimates under general supervision and maintains current, accurate pricing information from suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry sources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support pre-construction and estimating efforts to secure successful bids Format bids to fulfill all RFP requirements Perform scope review and quantity takeoffs from construction documents Level subcontractor bid proposals Review bid documents and prepare pre-bid RFIs Prepare budgetary pricing from schematic drawings Experience with base building and interior construction projects Analyze drawings and develop subcontractor bid lists Issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to subcontractors and suppliers Develop and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships Maintain relationships with architects, owners, engineers, designers, and clients Collaborate with operations teams to develop quantities, logistics plans, and schedules Lead and facilitate pre-bid meetings Gather historical cost data for use in future estimates Build and manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards Prepare estimates at conceptual, schematic, and design-development stages Maintain accurate documentation and project records Review bid forms prior to submission Review schedules and constructability with operations staff Assist with performance reviews and mentoring of junior estimators Prepare instructions to bidders and bid solicitation documents Develop conceptual budgets with limited information Support project handoff and kickoff meetings after award Supervise, train, and mentor junior estimators when required Research materials, specifications, and pricing Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience Minimum xsgimln 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial, interior, or base-building construction Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications Experience reviewing RFIs, RFPs, and bid packages Ability to estimate multiple projects simultaneously Knowledge of building codes and permitting requirements Strong attention to detail Strong math and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with estimating software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
