Senior Property Manager – Retail Assets (Commercial Real Estate Focus)

Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of retail assets. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in commercial retail property operations, financial performance, and tenant relations. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of maximizing asset value, driving NOI growth, and executing best-in-class property management practices across retail environments.
Important Requirement This position is strictly focused on commercial retail real estate. Only candidates with direct experience managing retail assets will be considered. Experience limited to multifamily, mixed-use (non-retail dominant), or unrelated property types will not be considered. Additionally, experience with anchor-driven shopping centers, outlet centers, or large-scale retail environments is required.
Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of a portfolio of retail properties, ensuring optimal performance and tenant satisfaction Develop and execute annual operating budgets, capital plans, and strategic asset plans Drive revenue growth through expense control, lease administration, and proactive tenant engagement Partner closely with leasing teams to support merchandising strategies and maintain strong occupancy levels Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and property maintenance programs to ensure high-quality property standards Conduct regular property inspections and implement improvements to enhance asset value Prepare and present financial reports, variance analyses, and performance metrics to ownership and stakeholders Lead and mentor on-site teams, fostering accountability and high performance Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and operational standards
Qualifications 7+ years of experience in commercial retail property management Demonstrated success managing shopping centers, anchor-based retail assets, or outlet centers Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting Deep understanding of retail leasing structures, CAM reconciliations, and tenant relations Proven leadership experience managing teams and third-party vendors Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
