Sample Designer / Estimator Location: Pittsfield, MA | Full-Time | Travel Are you someone who enjoys turning ideas into buildable, manufacturable solutions? We’re looking for a Sample Designer / Estimator who thrives at the intersection of design, estimating, process improvement, and manufacturing support.In this role, you’ll take ownership of projects from concept through production—developing accurate quotes, creating detailed CAD drawings and BOMs, supporting prototyping, and helping improve manufacturing processes along the way.

What You’ll Be Doing: • Develop detailed project quotes and cost estimates by partnering with sales, purchasing, and production teams • Create and maintain CAD drawings and Bills of Materials (SolidWorks experience required) • Support new product development through prototyping, RD, and process engineering • Generate CNC programs and provide technical support for specialty manufacturing equipment • Identify cost-saving opportunities in fabrication methods and material usage • Help establish quality standards, corrective actions, and production procedures • Partner with operations and QA to improve safety, consistency, and manufacturing efficiency What We’re Looking For: • Bachelor’s degree or 4–7 years of related design/estimating/manufacturing experience • Strong CAD proficiency, especially SolidWorks • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes • Comfortable working with geometry, measurements, ratios, and practical math applications • Experience with Excel, BOM development, and manufacturing documentation • Knowledge of CNC programming, 3D printing, or specialty equipment is a plus Why This Role Stands Out: This position offers broad visibility across engineering, production, quality, and project management.
