Overview
Through the centralization of all publishing work across the PM agencies, Publicis Media Exchange (PMX) launched a new team called The Edit. The Edit is a team of experts responsible for thought leadership, innovation, negotiations, tactical planning, investment and the future of connecting brands to premium editorial content. We are looking for talented and highly motivated team members to join the growing group and help drive all aspects of executing publishing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
A position on The Edit team is one that will give an employee the chance to be an expert in all areas of Publishing, having the opportunity to lead agency projects and grow their career by working with agency managers, across a variety of brands/verticals, as well as new business teams. The person in this position will experience all aspects of publishing (planning, buying, negotiating, post campaign reporting, training, etc.). This person will also work collaboratively with Strategy teams and industry vendors. The publishing marketplace is continually evolving with more innovative offerings in the areas of digital, social, data partnerships, eCommerce, content, etc. It is an exciting time to work in publishing!
Responsibilities
- Understand all phases of the clients’ marketing objectives and provide media recommendations to deliver against these objectives
- Oversee the development, execution, and stewardship/project management of publishing plans with flawless execution
- Includes, but is not limited to, developing consideration sets, drafting RFP templates, evaluating vendor proposals, managing rate contracts and details across print, newspaper, digital, mobile, tablet, and integrated programs, and post buys
- Prepare and present plans, as needed, including objectives, strategy, rationale, and all backup materials
- Manage relationships with media partners, inclusive of rate & positioning negotiations plus various marketplace intelligence gathering
- Oversee the team’s print billing process and reporting needs, inclusive of executive data summaries, spend rollups, client reporting, etc.
- Develop collaborative working relationship with agency leadership, strategy teams and individual clients
- Manage, train, and develop Direct Reports, including:
- Defining roles and responsibilities for junior team members
- Managing group dynamics/relationships amongst employees
- Identifying opportunities for career development for employees
- Inspiring creativity and innovation
- Checking employee work to ensure accuracy
- Leading publishing training sessions
Qualifications
- Extensive working knowledge of 360 publishing, as it relates to magazine and newspaper, ideally for both national and local (minimum of 3-5 years)
- Previous experience in media planning & activation, inclusive of standard industry research tools and processes
- Excellent negotiation, writing & presentation skills
- Strong understanding of media fundamentals with an ability to exercise more advanced applications of math to media concepts
- Mastery with Excel and PowerPoint capabilities
- Ability to tell stories through data, presentations, and verbal communication
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership skills with an impeccable ability to multi-task plus prioritize and organize projects for direct reports
- Understanding of proper business etiquette and protocols
- Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and organization

Compensation Range: $97,375 - $139,965 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
